Rep. Hennessey Comments on Illegal Immigration Legislation - 6/9/2010
A pair of bills that would protect construction jobs in Pennsylvania by cracking down on contractors who hire undocumented, illegal immigrants was approved with broad bi-partisan support by the state House on Tuesday. The legislation would penalize contractors who hire illegal immigrants, bar them from bidding on state construction contracts and also require the use of a federal E-Verify system to confirm the validity of workers Social Security numbers. Rep. Hennessey's Bill Would Protect Consumers with Prepaid Fuel Contracts - 4/23/2008
Pennsylvania consumers who enter into prepaid contracts for home heating oil or propane gas and then see that fuel company fail to deliver will receive protection under legislation recently introduced in Harrisburg. Rep. Tim Hennessy’s Prepaid Heating Oil and Gas Consumer Protection Act would require fuel companies that enter into prepaid delivery agreements to secure a surety bond to cover the cost of consumer contracts.
