Hennessey Congratulates Local Winner of Farm Show Scholarship
Rep. Tim Hennessey (R-Coatesville) recently congratulated Caitlin Fairbairn of Coatesville for receiving a $3,500 Farm Show Scholarship Award. The award was presented at a ceremony held at the 91st Annual Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg.
“Caitlin is an outstanding young lady who deserves recognition for her commitment to education and agriculture,” said Hennessey. “Her accomplishment is an example to young people throughout Chester County.”
Scholarships were awarded on the basis of scholastic achievements, 4-H or Future Farmers of America (FFA) involvement, scholastic accomplishments, and a history of involvement in livestock events at the Farm Show.
The Farm Show Scholarship Foundation, which funds the scholarships, has been providing assistance to outstanding 4-H and FFA youth for over a decade. To be eligible for a scholarship, students must be enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution and have been a Pennsylvania Farm Show exhibitor of junior market sheep, steers, swine or goats. Junior breeding project exhibitors (beef, sheep, meat goat, dairy goat and dairy cattle) are also eligible.
