Hennessey Resolution Designates May as Older Pennsylvanians Month

Rep. Tim Hennessey (R-Chester) today applauded the unanimous passage of House Resolution 760, which he prime-sponsored, designating the month of May as Older Pennsylvanians Month.

“This is a time to salute our Pennsylvania seniors who are living longer, healthier, and more active lives, thanks to the many advances we have made as a society,” said Hennessey.

“The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has announced the theme for the national observance of Older Americans Month as ‘Age Strong! Live Long!’ Here in Pennsylvania, that is certainly true.”

As Republican Chairman of the House Aging and Older Adult Services Committee, I urge everyone to join in honoring the contributions our seniors make to everyday life, to our economy and culture and by providing a great example to our younger people.”

Hennessey suggested we all take this opportunity to thank the family members, volunteers and professionals who care for seniors every day.
